Being in mind versus being in awareness is about making the life-changing shift to living and leading from our essence rather than from our mind alone. When we refer to the mind here, we equate mind to ego and mind as the location of thoughts, affects, problem-solving, assumptions and judgments which have their limits. Often, when leaders think about the mind, they are referencing intelligence, depth of expertise, strategic thinking, and the capacity to hold complexity. The essence of you is not your mind, not your thoughts, your yearning or your feelings. To locate a greater capacity for leadership and followership, you can learn to integrate your mind into a greater knowing (which you’ve known all along!)
