“I started coaching with Vernice when the world shut down in 2020. I was new to executive leadership. Six months into the job, I was dealing with a budget crisis, leading through a pandemic, and co-parenting a kindergartener learning from home. It took everything I had just to keep afloat let alone work out what leadership skills I needed to hone. To be honest, I had no idea what I needed help with even before the pandemic threw all of us into a new and uncertain world. This was the first thing Vernice helped me with. She deftly guided me through a process of identifying what I wanted to work on and combined that with 360 feedback to determine what I needed. I appreciated how much Vernice led me to discover myself and my relationship with power, as well as how to attune my skills to what the moment called for. With so many crises, both internal and external, her understanding of intersectionality was such an asset.
